IWT expands its ultra-portable footprint with the introduction of the LYNX Liberty capacitor discharge (CD) stud welder, a perfect complement to the LYNX Freedom battery drawn arc system. Weighing in at approximately 12 lbs., the Liberty is the lightest stud welder on the market, completely eliminating the tripping hazards and safety liabilities of corded units when working on scaffolding or scissor lifts.

Engineered with insulation contractors in mind for welding cupped head pins and insulation nails, the Liberty’s true competitive edge lies in its power source: it runs on commercially available 18V drill batteries—requiring no expensive, proprietary battery packs. The machine houses two batteries at a time, delivering roughly 1200 welds per battery (2,400 welds total) with seamless hot-swapping capability for zero downtime. For added versatility, it can be ordered with the IWT-C2 contact gun for threaded weld studs up to #10 fastener diameters.
